- 한국은 전 세계에서 고령화가 가장 빠른 속도로 일어나고 있는 나라 중 하나입니다.

- 지난 2000년 한국은 전체 인구 중 고령층이 7퍼센트 이상을 차지하는 '고령화 사회'에 공식 돌입하였습니다.

- It was officially labeled an "aging society" back in 2000. That's when the elderly started to take up more than 7% of the country's population.

 

- 그리고 이제는 고령층이 전체 인구의 14퍼센트를 차지하는 다음 단계인 '고령 사회'로 진입하고 있습니다. 

- Korea is mow approaching the next level - an "aged society". That's when the elderly account for more than 14% of the total population.

- 향후 10년 안에 이 단계에 도달할 것으로 예상됩니다.

- It is expected to hit that mark within the next decade. 

- 이러한 현상의 주요 원인으로는 저출산유로가 평균 수명 연장을 꼽을 수 있습니다. 

- The main factors behind this trend are the country's low birthrate and longer life expectancy.

 

- 이러한 추세가 계속된다면, 한국은 향후 경제 생산성 하락에 직면하게 되고, 고령층을 부양해야 하는 노동 인구의 부담이 더욱 커질 것입니다.
